Kyoto Protocol

The Kyoto Protocol has been adopted by the European Union & The UK; this requires countries to demonstrate a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels by 10% by the year 2010. As part of this protocol, the Government is promoting the use of energy from renewable sources for business electricity users. These renewable sources include wind, hydro, solar, biomass and landfill gas. As more customers demand electricity from scarce renewable sources, further investment in renewable energy projects in the UK will be encouraged.

First Steps to Green

By making the commitment to a partly renewable electricity supply, you could opt to present the whole company as environmentally aware- or promote certain sites as being entirely supplied by renewable energy. To help you communicate this environmental choice, we’ll provide you with a personalised ‘Greener Choice Environmental Certificate’.

With 100% of the energy you buy coming from completely renewable sources as defined by Her Majesty’s Treasury including biofuels, onshore & offshore wind and hydropower, ‘100% Renewable’ customers can be sure that they are taking every possible step towards more environmentally- aware electricity consumption. We will ensure you receive a personalised ‘CUB Environmental Certificate’ to communicate to your customers, stakeholders and staff that you are an ethical organisation implementing a sound environmental policy. As a relatively scarce energy option, renewable electricity currently commands a small premium over traditional electricity. We do, however, feel the role you will be playing in renewable energy growth in the UK far outweighs the cost.
